Before inviting people in to your profile: just like a company should have its website looking good, you should have your profile looking great. Profile photo, headline, header image, About and experience all sorted.
Profile photos
A good photo doesn't need to be a professional photo, but do it if you can. If not, try a Pro-Selfie as an immediate fix.
