Accessibility statement

What we aim for

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the same standard used by the New Zealand Government Web Accessibility Standard. That means content you can perceive, controls you can operate by keyboard as well as mouse or touch, and text a screen reader can read out.

What we have done

• Pages are built with real headings, landmarks and lists, so a screen reader can navigate structure rather than a wall of text.
• Every form field has a visible label, and interactive controls carry accessible names.
• Menus and buttons can be reached and operated with the keyboard, and the mobile menu announces whether it is open.
• We have checked colour contrast on text and buttons and fixed what fell short.
• Motion, such as the scholarships gauge, respects your "reduce motion" setting.

Where we know there is still work

We are honest about this: we have not yet completed a full independent audit with assistive technology across every part of the signed-in community app. It is on our list. If you use a screen reader, voice control or another assistive tool and hit a barrier, telling us helps us fix the right things first.
